Since they specified one comic that would be used for it, it doesn't really leave much for imagination. Also, that story has been used or referenced in several works already (1989 cartoon, game based on that cartoon, Secret of the Magic Potion makes a reference by having the traitorous chief appear for a bit, Attention Menhir derives the "Getafix gets crushed with a menhir and loses memory" plot)
When I said "the wrong kind of attention"... I use Tumblr. People have called out the portrayal of black people in the franchise before. Yes, it's wrong, but if everyone starts talking about it I'd run from the fandom because it would be too anxiety-inducing to hear about that regularly. Who wants to partake in a fandom that gives you anxiety?
But I might be just paranoid.
First time i'm watching Asterix and the secret of the magic potion and i can already see what i'm letting myself into when i hear Spin Me Right Round during the opening
As much as the 3d movies brought us the dreaded games, they are awesome and perfect comic wise
I for sure love the 3D models
The only one im iffy about is obelix
He has a very roundy face not reminiscent of his almost concave comic face
Asterix looks odd to me in MoTG, they improved him a lot in SotMP but stole his screentime
Oh yeah, they did him dirty in secret
Getafix is the true protagonist of SotMP, even the poster foreshadows it
I'm more interested to see the romans ngl
Him getting [spoiler]||naked and in a wool costume is kinda humilliating even||
