I second Failentin, there isn't a true replacement for the camera mod due to how XXL Editor doesn't truly portrait the game's content in its ingame form. The free camera tool lets you observe npcs and their animations, with correct display of reflective materials, texture filtering or what-not. As well as animated textures. There's an appeal in having the ability to take static shots of the world of the game, away from the heroes, or from an unusual angle.
Martyste Tendertail
But yeah I might just archive the old tool and remove it from here. He didn't want us to use them anyway, right? Adrien maybe could try to dissect it just in case it would ever help rebuild a better camera tool with starting from scratch

I agree the downloads need a cleanup, but at the same time, the downloads do represent a bit of our history and how we slowly pushed towards fixing the compatibility issues of the games. I would gladly opt to *archive* the whole channel instead, and copy over only the current *relevant* tools, fixes and mods in a new channel, while the other is sent to where only mods and admins can see.
Failentin
yup, that's what I meant, sorry if I confused you, Simaf 😅

Why not create multiple download channels? Or maybe a separate category...
Mr.Rubinshtein
too many channels
Mr.Rubinshtein
we could possibly create a separate channel for mods
PegPeregoGaucho
Its logical, just to find the XXL2 patches you need to scroll up for a while...
Mr.Rubinshtein
and one just for tools
PegPeregoGaucho
it would be mods | tools | patches
Mr.Rubinshtein
well better would be to have one separate for mods and one for tools
PegPeregoGaucho
where do the patches go?
Mr.Rubinshtein
in mods
Mr.Rubinshtein
since they are part of it
PegPeregoGaucho
Its ***not*** a mod
Mr.Rubinshtein
yes but its a fix for a **mod**
PegPeregoGaucho
no, its just a patch applied to the original game...
PegPeregoGaucho
it has nothing to do with modifying anything, thats the goal of it
Mr.Rubinshtein
wait you are talking about the patch for mod or for vanilla?
PegPeregoGaucho
the patches
