GBA XXL is very difficult, you shouldn't have any issue with the trilogy if you beat the GBA version of XXL

Actually true, there are parts which are insanely difficult, and if you are playing without save points then gl :))
im playing the gba version through my everdrive. i dont think they will support save states for a long time to come
i try not to play on emulators unless i can play on origonal hardware if all posable
