Yes, the comics would be closed if Uderzo himself did comics after the death of Gosinny (which he did at first)

RIP... He officially retired in 2011, when he chose Conrad and Ferri to continue the comics; they sometimes asked him for counseling, so he has been more or less present in all comics up to this day
I hope Uderzo has a good and peaceful life in heaven
