except characters i need to upgrade my skill a bit to be able to reproduce characters as well

I would just suggest keeping the tri count a constant ratio multiplier between your object for consistency

I suppose the lever on the right acts as a brake, so yeah it makes sense to make the cylinder that way

Maybe edit the brake so it has a small bit attaching to the cilynder' shape
