Asterix & Friends has a minigame Centurion Punch Tournament. I launched the Roman straight to North America and hit a Roman camp.
I just realized something... *Why* are there Romans in *America*? 😳
I remember watching Asterix Conquers America, where the Romans catapulted Getafix over the "world's edge"... but they actually catapulted him to North America. As Asterix and Obelix swam to that land, they only met Native Americans.
If my memory is correct, the first people to "discover" America were vikings
I just tried out Asterix & Obelix from 1995... and I think I found my new least favourite Asterix game. Played on Easy and ended up getting pissed off anyway.
It's known to be pretty hard. I think I never finished it as a child.
Yeah, the game might feature good graphics and Alberto José Gonzalez' only 16-bit soundtrack, it's a Snes Infogrames game of the likes of Tintin and the Smurfs: unfair difficulty.
Even the nes/gb games are more doable.
Still, it's my favourite entry except for the XXL series. True to the comics, great atmosphere, good gameplay... Really the only thing that drags it down is the password system. If it had save points I wouldn't mind the difficulty.
Ran out of time? Restart the level! Died? Restart the level! Lost all lives? Too bad, bitch, restart the whole game!
Oh right, they could have done away with the time countdown on easy.
Did anyone ever find it weird that the game defaults to Obelix as a playable character?

Speedrun it and then the timer won't be a problem anymore :>
I'm the kind of person that spends 12 hours in an 8 hour game 🤦♂️
