In fact, mine isn't a cardboard holder for 4 boxes. There's a holder but for something that can hold 4 discs at once

This might just be a different localised packaging. Picture the discs, and if the boxes look different, show me that too when you can. Some discs should expectedly be black and white.

Only XXL 1, MM and GW are black and white
No manual since there are PDF's inside each disc
On Mobygames you can find the French covers
So, seems that the other cover artwork is from 2006
Also, that fucking XXL 1 logo with the white background
