Getafix actually exists in this game, but he isn't in the village. He can make the magic potion for the Egyptian workers.

Pointandclix (the character you play as) can travel to Egypt. There you will find a construction site where the Egyptian workers will build (or repair) a palace. The workers don't work normally, and you need to complete tasks for them to make them do their job: bring them water or food, craft tools... They will work for a while, then stop and you'll need to do their tasks again if you want them to keep working. The potion that Getafix can make for them increases their productivity.

While the game is called "*Asterix* and Friends", Asterix and Obelix don't play such a big role here. Asterix or Obelix alone is capable of defeating a patrol or part of a legion with a 100% chance (the other villagers have a chance of losing if their strength isn't very high compared to the Romans' strength), but these two can be used to fight Romans only if certain sets of tasks have been completed. After Asterix or Obelix fights, he becomes unavailable and the player needs to complete that set of tasks again if they want his help.
