I'm pretty sure I had it at 60, but I'd need some program attached to it or recording a video to prove it
Very few things behave wrong when overclocking. For now, I only noticed the menu subtitles are moving faster.
But damn is it great to play the very laggy mini-games in full fluidity
Also widescreen support is quite good
... What's even the point of this trade?
This guy sent me a bunch more trade offers when I wasn't even playing the game, so they were all expired
I triggered the Romans to ambush me twice in less than half a minute while chopping trees... not a lucky return to the game
The people who manage Asterix and Friends are stupid. No way to block users, if you're in a guild you can be still invited to another guild, the "Gauish Soup" is still there, there are two vacant places in the village where buildings can be built but there's nothing left to build and it's been like that ever since I registered, some symbols cause font glitches in village names, there was no Halloween event in 2019 and no New Year event now for some reason...
Recent Asterix games are cursed
@Stinkek I see. Usually I'm not into this type of mobile games either, but I was looking for something to install on my phone to play on the go.
Just did a bit of research, though: Asterix & Friends was developed by Sproing Interactive, a studio that went defunct in 2016. The founder of Sproing started a new studio called Purple Lamp shortly thereafter. Purple Lamp bought the game assets for Asterix & Friends as well as the name "Sproing Publishing" and administered the game from 2016 to 2019, during which time they did _not_ produce any new content but kept it running as well as possible - presumably this was done to keep Sproing's former business partners happy, since several big companies were involved in A&F.
Anyway, "Sproing Publishing" aka Purple Lamp sold the game to another company in November. Apparently the game is still running on servers from Purple Lamp / Sproing, but they have completely sold away their responsibility to provide bugfixes, etc.
I wouldn't be too surprised if the game is gone in a year or so.
I'd like to insert Asterix & Friends as part of a possible "Evolution of Asterix games" video, but for that I'd need somoeone to know how to record phone footage...
@Herr Epsilon Oh... That explains everything... I take back what I said about the devs.
@Martyste Tendertail This game is also playable in browser (I play it there), but it requires you to use your e-mail, FB account or something else
Just checked the game's website again, you need to login using your e-mail, Facebook account or Google account to play it. In the game, your name will be your village's name. New villages are automatically named "Village-*number*" and can be renamed at any time. Symbols outside of English alphabet are supported but may cause font glitches.
I actually saw a video similar to what you named, but it was relatively short and had no commentary
Stupid game, I always allow you to use Flash, why do you keep asking me?
Dunno why I'm saying this, but the player should pay attention to the wording of tasks.
If the task says "deliver *item*", this means the player must have the item in their inventory, and when the player finishes the task, the item will disappear.
If the task says "craft *item*", the task will progress when the player finishes crafting the item. It doesn't matter what they do with this item afterwards, and it will not disappear from the inventory when the task is finished.
If the task says "collect *item*", the player only needs to put the item in their inventory by finding it while getting resources, fighting, crafting or doing anything else. When the task is finished, the item will stay in the inventory, and it doesn't matter what the player does with it later.
The characters with available tasks will have "!" above them. If they only have tasks that repeat, the symbol will have a spinning arrow next to them.
@rubinho146 Since you're the mega madness guy around, I'd like to know if we could investigate the PC version for potential 60 FPS framerate. I'm pretty sure we're capped at 30, while if you overclock a PS1 emulator you can reach that framerate.
