The sandbox open-world pioneering in GTA was incredible. I would spend hours with my friend causing all kinds of mayhem just to see how the NPCs would react. To be honest, most of it was really ridiculous and not realistic at all, but that was part of the appeal.

Now if only my mother wasn't so strict on age rated games, and didn't base her judgement solely on advertisements on TV, I'd have likely approached GTA earlier in life and perhaps got a better taste for it. Part of me deep inside, young me is still trying to lesson me into not playing that.
