there are many different programs and many different ways to render videos. currently the best way is to use a codec that uses the graphic card so it doesn't 100%-penerate the CPU constantly. depending on different settings it takes longer or shorter. After that the raw-material is smaller. maybe only 2-3 GB in your case or a bit bigger, but not 20 GB anymore.
