I gotta admit: in the vanilla game I only use two combos: Power Hammer and Twister.
i use only the twister
I like Power Hammer because I find it easy to use (unless I get nervous and start mixing up buttons), I can use to quickly take out a single enemy and stun nearby enemies, which often helps in filling the Combo bar again.
Although grabbing those pushing Romans was tricky...
