GO SUBMIT ! :Pedlar:
Martyste Tendertail
Yeah submit, you know Livesplit can bug all it wants, what matters is the gameplay that we can retime if needed
NoTeefy
@Noxus94 his CPU is constantly at 100% which results in those timer hickups, however the autosplitter wouldn't work for him at the moment because he's using W7 and I made it for W8+ only
NoTeefy
Gonna need to add the support for older systems but I don't have much time atm :/
Noxus94
I don't really think you have to support such old systems... xD
Noxus94
it's not worth. He should just manual split
NoTeefy
Well neither did I but here we are and I don't want to let any runner out of the advantages and quality of life improvement such a timer gives
NoTeefy
I wouldn't use a splitter at all on such a system. Just retime it later on, the timer's not going to be accurate with his CPU
NoTeefy
It tries to sync it's time from time to time over the atomic clock but if your CPU ticks aren't consistent it won't result in a proper time calculation
NoTeefy
It can also result in a lot of other bugs, I had a streamer with that problem once in another community I am active in, his timer ran at half the speed it should have because of CPU overload. Another one at double the speed...
NoTeefy
https://www.speedrun.com/aer_moo/run/y6pg8gqm just skip to around 09:00
NoTeefy
you'll see it in the video 😛
Noxus94
was he wondering why he sometimes had great times and sometimes really bad without failure? xD
Noxus94
oh, he knows, okay
NoTeefy
Yeah he noticed after a while
NoTeefy
He wasn't sure what went wrong though but I joined his chat after some time and explained it to him
NoTeefy
there's also an issue on Github and a lot of reports of it happening on the LiveSplit dev server but they don't really care enough to fix it as it seems (could be because they're working on LiveSplit One; basically the newer, fresher and platform independent splitter)
