oh, I just jumped over the lava as much as possible and skipped the trigger for the spike ball - but not for the spy. But I guess that means we can skip that too if we jump over the lava on the exact right spot

i dont understand how the spy didnt get triggered
dont feel like the flybash should change that
both trigger zones are already on the floor before the stairs, and both of them are not very high. But it seems like the spy's one is too far to the lava side to simply jump around it. I'm rather confused what causes the spike ball to roll, because he does that in various different spots for me, even when I just stand there and don't move
