is there currently a know way to make a snapshot of the game, save it to file and start from a fresh copy of that snapshot later? like.. creating a custom savepoint at any time in game.
I have not seen anything like it, though it could be enormously helpful for speedrunning practicing / finding glitches etc. If there is nothing like it (?) I'll fiddle around with docker/criu soon
will have more time starting April
@pyramidensurfer maybe you could put trainer src on github? would help finding a way into the game binary
another question, has anybody gotten xxl to run with linux wine?
So far the only way to do that is with Dolphin
Yeah. Well the Gamecube emulator, when correctly setup, runs really well and will lag with a really bad computer only.
So you can just do like me and run Doplphin if it has a Linux version for your first attempts. We calculate an ingame-time without load times anyway.
Though not everything is the same on the GC version of the game sadly enough
I still kinda think that the NTSC version may be the fastest as you can skip the intro and that we don't count loading screens
But maybe it can't load as many romans on screen at once so you end up having really slow fights and thus you loose in the long run
@Martyste Tendertail My graphics card allows me to render games at higher resolutions than my monitor. It helps against the bad aliasing. However currently, I think it started after I updated to Windows 10, it doesn't work properly with XXL anymore. XXL 2 works fine though.
What is your graphics card? I have an Nvidia GTX 1050 now so I should have no problem running it in 4K ( same goes for the Gamecube emulated version )
I might have a strat for the greece death pit where you instnatly kill one of the gladiators and then skip the 2nd one
Wanna take that muck risks!?
GDQ on for real this time :p
