So @iTrash , any news from XXL2?
I'm about to get a special game bundle by the name of "World of Asterix", containing XXL 1 & 2 as well as Mega Madness and Gallic War, 2 older titles released on PS1 aswell. This is only the PC versions and there might be chances that the compatibility of this 2006 release gets better.
Some progress. The difficult part for now is extracting the original code from the binary. So I'm currently not at the stage of working on a patch but more of preparing stuff.
So it'll still take a while
Got Mega Madness to work on my PC, time to set a record

This is a tiny idea for XXL for a ~10 seconds time save in Greece which just came into my mind while I was practising and which I simply wanted to test. Problem of this strat is that you might be too slow fighting the lions which results in the torch to go off too early. Maybe some of you know a way to fight these lions consistantly
That looks pretty cool. But how consistant is it from your experience?
It looks decent but the timing has to be near perfect on the lions
At the moment I manage to do it two out of three times.
Concerning the lions: I think the best position to jump onto the platform is a little right to the middle (if that makes any sense...) and then I wait for ~half a sec until the lions move in my direction so I can hit multiple of them at once.
Haven't had the time yet to check out how consistantly this works, though.
Pretty good! This can be useful.
You've made a pretty good run. Would you want my Livesplit assets? I've made icons, sound effects, a custom font ( made from the PS2 PAL 2003 release of XXL ) and background for it!
ALso, to stream or local record, I use Mishira, an open source program ( sadly discontinuited ) that work much better than OBS. I could give it to you too, hoping it will still work on your end, as it is pre-installed.
Thank you. (:
And yes, I'm interested in the livesplit assets.
But I don't need Mishira. I'm perfectly happy with OBS, but thanks for the offer anyways ^^
I'm telling this because you could easily go up to 60 FPS with no lag.
Anyways, @everyone look up at http://www.speedrun.com/aoxxl#Any the board, I've updated all the times according to the (not so) new rules.
When running on Gamecube [Emu]; the loading times stack up to consistent 52 seconds
On PC, it varies from 5 to 8 seconds
