Modern wired controllers shouldn't need any adapters
It's jsut if they don't have USB
The duelshock controllers also work as they connect vie Bluetooth
PS3 and XBox both use USB-Cable
Heck, you can you a Wii controller
and XBox ones also work without any extra program
Yeah, but you can't use a wireless Xbox controller without adapter
then buy one with cable. Shouldn't be too rare, either

Though as I even got my GC controller to work with this game outside of up / down camera controls almost anything should work :)
