It is right before taking control of Asterix so I guess we can still use it.
Well guys, I TASed up to the Normandy Docks.
I went up to the Tower but I need to rerecord that section because of a desync that only occurs when playing the movie from the start.
Well, okay, to summarize this I have a question: Is it only possible with TAS to show how our current knowledge works when done perfect or is it also possible to try frame perfect things or completely new things we yet not know a way of but should be possible?
Doing things frame by frame kinda is Tasing :p Unless you mean pause buffering in which case... No thx
With TAS I can show either a perfect human run, or a enhanced run, a real TAS.
sooo, it would at least easily be possible to see if jumps like the one left to Normandy fire cave could be doable if we can make that jump frame perfect, in order to skip the whole bridge.
What about testing every possible angle on a wall in order to see if there is any way to clip through? Or trying to jump off an empty fire place to see if there is one frame where we can actually jump on it instead of sliding off?
All of that can be done with TAs
Going frame by frame testing inputs
other question actually is if it helps us at all if we ever find a way to clip through a wall, since you're just stuck when you go oob. They really did a good job. They made you stuck oob, you immediately lose control when you die and you even always get respawned where the game wants you to, and not where you died. They prevented actually most of the usual techniques to find speedrun glitches
also you don't have any rides where you can clip through anything when going off
only things are catapults and you almost never get close to a wall with them
and even if you do, you just dismount them on the other, free side
it's like they already knew speedrunning back in 2003! 😛
Have you tested the auto-splitter by pyramiden?
