I just figured that when possible, using Dogmatix can help against shielded romans when you don't want to consume energy to disarm them.
You may have let some alarms go off, and take damage
Stunned enemies obviously count as beatn for fights where you're stuck why those wood spikes
Also Romans lose their entire aggression when you use the "spy"-feature
which also means that all locks protecting levers are disclosed
as long as you don't aggro them again, of course
