Well, YOU're supposed to be number 1. Where's your WR! D:
Well for my part, I've decided to stop running entirely. I must admit I don't really enjoy doing it anymore, and would rather spend my time on something else :/
I'll still watch runs and help explaining strats here, but I won't actively run and look for strats anymore.
After all, it's not as if holding a record ever really meant anything to me... I sometimes felt like my records rather broke the fun than encouraging competition ^^'
Well...
Yes and No.
Yes, probably a couple of people got discouraged by seeing your insane times.
BUT: The reason that is so is that there simply isn't enough competition here. Nobody can blame you for being awesome at speedrunning xD
Speedrun grows when severel people stick to one specific game (& category) and that's just not the case here.
If Marty, Simaf, Me, etc. would have the time and motivation to do runs severel times a week, we would definitly have close competition for 1st place.
Also being 2nd in something is weirdly enough kinda the point of speedrunning. Because being 1st means that you just run against yourself and have no real reason to improve.
So, logically, we should even be motivated by you being so good xD
But as I said: There's not the right people for that in this community. None of us has the time or any external reason to really grind this game. And that's the problem ^^
Though I do want to send in a game to SGDQ if it will still be online then. Just not sure yet what game, but I mean at least I already know how to run XXL
Yes, I totally understand that ^^ I had a big time advantage until now as I'm not yet finished with school, so it was much easier for me to grind the games.
But still, I'd like to move away from speedrunning from now on and concentrate on activities I enjoy more
Yeah, that's totally fair. A shame, though. You were always an amazing rival and a great contribution to strat finding π
Thank you

It was certainly a fun time to break these games down with you guys π
you will be missed Failentin. You were an elite player and you helped me alot. You and Noxus. But hey I will be speedrunning the game, trying to get 2nd place.
thank you and best of luck to you!! π
Hello I am a newbie at speeruning this game, can you explain me how you are doing the first normandie lock ? I'm watching your run and I really don't understand how the trigger is working... Thanks for your help π
Hey! Are you already following the instructions of the description under my video for the strat?
"Jump into the ceiling of the tunnel from the stack of crates. Move through the tunnel until you're at the ledge where you'd fall off, turn the camera by 180 degrees and double-jump out of the ceiling right into the corner next to the tunnel. Now move closely along the right wall until you're behind the druid and the fireplace should not yet be locked. Grab a potion and light the torch.
To get an early passive lock with this skip, move back until you see all Vikings get respawned to their original location (the trigger should be somewhere around the druid)."
I didn't because I don't know where to find it. I watch the videos from Noxus but some of the strats seems to be outdated
the problem, Failentin, is that there seems to be an invisible wall that inhibits Asterix to jump to the corner. It works sometimes but not consistently, at least for me. Is there a particular order that you have to press down and left? (I'm playing on keyboard).
Yeah, my XXL Original strats from almost 3 years ago are unfortunately pretty outdated xD
and yeah, you can't jump straight to that corner.
You have to use your first jump to jump down and then your second jump to get into the corner with up-left
and then hug the invisible wall until you passed the druid
Haha same... this days, I don't have any time to play and practice...
I lack the motivation to play, even if it's not the first reason I'm not running anymore
