Perfect pushes took me 19s which I find already pretty long. But how much you can lose if, let's say, you miss on the second pit

yeah, but not consistently: the difference lies in the first rocketeer, sometimes he's already at the fireplace while you light it, sometimes, you have to wait a few seconds longer
