It also turns out MPC-HC is an even better player than I initially thought. You can set it to minimal mode which gets rid of the whole ui and shit

and you can also activate "always on top but only while playing"

It's perfect because I can just press my keyboard shortcut to start/pause it and it'll appear and disappear over my LiveSplit 😄
