Not sure at all, but it might probably at some point with a high degree of uncertainty that the pixel where you tuch the thing gives you more or less speed... The most next to the center you are, the most speed you get... but once again...
I managed to stand and walk on one of the spring platforms and then as I waked off I could flybash T__T
