there's literally no difference other than that the druid is awake
and if somebody wants to cheat by activating things beforehand to save time, we can literally see it in the first two minutes of the run
We've yet to have a ruling on it actually
And personally I still argue that for the same reason it's not done in OoT or MM or WW or M64 Goldeneye and so on. We should also start from new game.
Beating a game from start to finish as fast as possible with keyword being start.
True it would be less of a pain to reset without the intro and I think I know that more than anyone.
But at the same time you wouldn't be starting from the start of the game.
You're starting from a file that you set up before hand.
That's not the same no matter how you look at it.
And again, we've yet to have a ruling on this.
<@&302463196525232129> it's time to set the rules of this game in stone. Currently the question is where does the game start. There are currently 2 options available.
Option 1 is that we start from new game, this means that we start the game the same as anyone else who would play the game and then aim to play through it as fast as possible.
Options 2 is to allow for runners to set up a save file by getting to the 1st druid in Gaul using cheats so that you start runs without watching the intro. Over all this saves about half a second ish.
what? how on earth does that save time?
Currently the ruleset doesn't speak for or against it in any way.
Your start position is not the same Nox
hm, that's not even half a second, but I see the point
Again, I don't care about the time save.
I only care about the where we start from and have that sealed in stone.
I believe originally the ruleset did say that we start from New Game but after it was changed in wording that part has disappeared.
