I can confirm that Linkus's mashing technique is nearly impossible on a DS4 controller.

I'm obviously not as good as him but I'm reaching 11-12 inputs a second quite consistently

and I only practiced that for about 2 weeks like 30 minutes a day

However I used to mash in a similar way "casually" which may have helped me learn that technique 😮
