That won‘t work for consoles (there‘s actually a new thing called Videoautosplitter) but it won‘t work for all consoles/games and it requires a lot of setup
But that‘s just my experience with stuff like that. I‘m usually on the side of Noxus that NO SPEEDRUN ever should use tricks that require you to modify/setup your game in a specific way (even stuff like limiting your FPS like in GTA or Harry Potter)
well, tbh that is a great point
limiting FPS is a thing in many speedruns and it's always allowed
In my point of view a speedrun should be a run where you beat the game as fast as possible while being flexible to perform it on every „casual“ setup
yeah that‘s what I mean. You‘ll always break some „best world scenarios“ with different stuff but as long as its nothinf major I don‘t really see a point in it being banned
Like take our case as an example. We only patched in a feature that overrides the 4:3 value to a 16:9 value and nothing more; nothing less (if we let the FOV fix out)
We did that to ensure that it would meet todays standards
Sure there will be people who like to play old games in 4:3 because of memories but other than that it will only annoy other ones to pick it up

I asked the 4 people that discussed in this matter and Yarny, since he was a runner of this game for a very long time.
The current result is:
4 would allow the trick, 1 wouldn't any Marty is currently offline.
But since already more than half of the people voted for Yes, it would make no difference to wait for him.
So my question to everybody here: Should we use that result, or does somebody disagree with it and has a way to make the poll more representative to the community?

Btw just to trigger some thoughts about this thing: Did you ever think about the possibility that some glitches only work because the games are getting run on such advanced equipment that we have nowadays? Would you then force people into buying old setups only to be allowed to speedrun a game?
And another thing: If we would be that strict; everyone would need to install second system with Windows 32-Bit on it because we already modified the game files to be able to run on 64-Bit architectures
Also, it's not as if the trick was impossible in the unpatched version. It's just much less consistent (I have a 10-20% success rate atm), but theoretically you could still get the exact same time with some luck
Okay, next questions: Somebody said earlier he was able to tardis from the 30 Roman Fight to our current tardis spot. Anybody wants to mess around with it, cause I can't even make it with widepatch? ^^
