@Linkcraft Well, just so you know, I bought in 2015 an Avermedia LGP for 110€, it can work without a computer thanks to an SD card slot, and when plugged to a PC, you have the choice to either use RECentral to display a window of your game's footage, or use a similar program they made that converts the capture card into a Webcam source you can capture in OBS. The second option has the highest chance of working on laptops, due to how laptops with 2 graphics cards make OBS captures so complex.
So, 5 years later, not sure if that product is still selling, but if it does, it probably goes for cheaper. it's about the size of a PSP, but takes only HDMI in and out. When I wanted to use it with old video sources, I chose to buy an extra adapter from composite to HDMI.
And now that I have a SCART video cable for both the PS2 and GC, I guess that someday I should get such an adapter to enhance the quality ( I had composite and composite really looks terrible )
But tbh, if I want to run XXL on console, I'll do so from my Wii U: it's internal Wii can be modded to re-enable gamecube compatibility: no emulation, works and behaves exactly like a Wii, down to the loading times!
But, i'll do so only when I get a GC controller adapter for the Wii U, as using any other Wii U compatible controller ( Gamepad can't be used in Wii mode tho ) will give a weird button layout...

Oh, and the LGP may have aged a little bit for today's standarts, but for your case that shouldn't be an issue: the highest available resolution for 60 FPS ( or, 50 in our case ) is 1280x720. Anything higher will force it down to 30FPS.

Best advice you can get for recording this game is to play on PC and use OBS, it's an old game and with today's PC even with a bad one you will be able to record your gameplay. I rly don't advise to buy a 100€ capture card for XXL
Yeah, I bought a capture card because I had much more to do with it. The PC version remains the most accessible choice
So, in my run on the Gamecube I was able to to everything expect the following:

For the [13] Minor Fire Time Save (Egypt) I am just to slow in my movement.
For the [08] Getting Helvetia Passive Lock: can you provide any more tips for it? Or should I just try, try and try again? Edit: I am mostly to low in the air.

Actually, there is a slower but working way to get it
After triggering the 50 lock in the turtoise area, just go backwards on the previous tunnel. You just need to go to (let's say) the middle of the tunnel. Then come back to the turtoises arena. The lock won't disappear, but you can still hit the button. Then the cable car will fall down and you can use it casually. However, you still get the passive lock this way because it never disappears ...
