Martyste TendertailThe worst is indeed the worst, but we shall not forget the context of its release nor the messages it was trying to convey.
Martyste TendertailIt wasn't just the silliest Asterix adventure, it was an outcry from the franco-belgium comic industry against the american and japanese industries taking over in our territory. The weird purple character called "Toune" is spelled like "Toon" and is an obvious parody of Mickey, representing Disney. His Arnold-like super Heroes represent DC Comics and all american super hero comics. The antagonists in his Goldorak-like rocket represents japanese mangas in general.
Martyste TendertailBuuut despite trying for all of that, the writing and pacing falls absolutely flat.
