So, I'm not sure if I got everything while reading through this, but @Martyste Tendertail, your OG soundtrack is partially ripped from YouTube?
from RingsOfGeonesis uploads
although some are edited (i think)
Rings uploaded the files basically raw, as they are stored in the files and I had to make sense of them again
In that case even the 320kb/s mp3s are theoretically too large. YouTube 1080p has an audio bitrate of 192kb/s mp4.
Sometimes lower based on connection speed.
Can't be..... I had alot of 256kbps at least in alot of youtube songs
And what I got is clearly even above that
Some of the converters available
Alright, this is kinda bugging me. Apparently my information about 192kb/s is outdated, but I can't seem to find any information newer than ca. 2016.
According to that the maximum audio bitrates have been changed to:
128kb/s AAC for devices that can't play WebM/VP9/Opus, and for unpopular videos with less views
160kb/s Opus for everything else
256 kb/s AAC for the paid YouTube Music service
Since I want to know if this is still true I'm going to analyze some files now. Why am I doing this? Don't know tbh 😅
