In my pirated copy of XXL3 when I press Special Hits, it displays XB1 keys, even though I don't have it, can't connect my XB360 to the PC, and the game doesn't see my generic gamepad. However in the Steam demo it displays keyboard keys like it should.

After playing the XXL3 demo with my generic gamepad for a bit, I can confidently say that the keyboard controls are absurdly overcomplicated. You play on, let's say, XB1, and you have one key to drink potion or call Dogmatix to fight. Well, on PC you have two different keys for these! Why?

You want to launch a Roman into the sky or whack his shield out? On console you hold one of those frontal keys and press one of the keys on the right half that you're used to. On PC, each Special Hit has its own key that's not used in any other situation, and Uppercut / Obelix's Swing is split into 2 keys depending on the character!

I mean... I'm pretty sure the game has controller support on PC so I don't see how the game wouldn't work on the Steam deck unless the PC port is completely mismanaged... In which case, I'm not surprised.

They're 2 different standards for controllers.

Xinput is the Microsoft standard and thus works with pretty much anything on PC while Direct input is neglected by some games for god knows what reason.
