I wonder if it's any good on console tho.
Since you know, you can't really beef up/down framerate on them
Yeah, he discovered it on Gamecube, so it works there at least
Aight. Cuz I got a feeling console runs are so slow to begin with, I guess a skip like that on GC and PS2 would sound acceptable.
And if it works on Romastered I'd say it's literally free with the crappy performance
that's what I thought, too, but it's strange: One day I had no trouble with the glitch in Romastered at all, the next day I could barely pull it off anymore
interessting. That way we are comming back to the point where FPS can change a game which I was talking about already about other games as well.
Yeah, just like how some speedrunners abuse the N64's framerate to sometimes clip through walls.
Reminds me now kinda on another game on speedrun.com where they use a tool to make the game lag temporary for several big timesaves. But I doubt this would be allowed here with the game rules? Making such a tool for XXL might not be too difficult, at least I have an idea (which pauses the game's process temporary to create that lag)
I wouldn't like that personally :/ Any% speedruns should work without relying on tools imo
Fair enough. Yea the other game I am talking about is also a PC game but requires a bit of a good PC, so people with a bad PC could technically do the lag tricks "accidentally" (even if not consistent). I am not too active in that other community but perhaps they thought if some people have a bad PC anyway, they may just allow their lagging tool (I might be wrong about that) for everyone
Original XXL on the other hand seems very resource friendly and works on a potato
At the same time it makes me a lil bit curious if XXL has more interesting lag related mechanics or tricks
That would be a cheat, and cheats are forbidden in all categories except Potion%

Doesn't the potion get canceled in the room right before or is that where "the lag" needs to kick in to bypass that?
Was messing around in my freetime lil bit how the game behaves and despite some lag, the previous room did continue to remove the potion
aside that I was having walking speed during hitting or the camera perspective changing weirdly when moving, while testing
i never tested or watched myself that potion removal skip
i'm just reading here and there what people been discussin
