That's why we do the catapult fight after the first caves in Normandy only with Dogmatix and the grabbing and throwing attacks, so that we don't have to punch a Roman, which would make us lose the flybash we got earlier at the Vikings fight.
Thank you so much! I will try it again with this new tips!
there are some certain Romans that, for whatever reason, steal your ability to use flybash if you interact with them in any way. But they are very, very rare.
Everytime I just let myself fall down in Normandy when getting out of the cave where we always collect the one Laurel and then push a Roman I lost my flybash. Even though I didn't build any combo bar at all.
Also if you get hit by one of the four Romans guarding the catapult after wind cave there is a high chance of you losing flybash
You're wrong Failentin... this strat don't work everytime since in the vikings fight, the rule is not followed, but we still keep flybash...

yeeeah, that's the exception x)
It is kinda weird that we (almost) always keep it there ^^
After having done some runs in different categories now, my theory is that we filled up our combo bar under potion effect, AND we stopped that effect instantly by going through the potion barrier...
Not sure of that though...
The explanation would be : the game does not know what to do about flybash and makes you keep it x)
Yeah, I actually never lost flybash there either...
Thinking again about flybash for XXL 1 and XXL 2 DS, it would have made more sense to call it "Hoverbash" for XXL 1 and give Flybash to XXL 2 DS when discovered... eh, whatevs
Since, you know, in XXL 1 we keep our height while in 2DS we actually raise up from anywhere
Thank you all for your great help! I was able to do the trick for the Helvetia passiv Lock. So it seems like every trick is possible at the GameCube ;)
I didn't found something about the early Greece skip. The skip where Asterix is glitched into a wall and teleport to the next save druid. Could someone try to explain it or post a video of it? I would like to know if that is possible on GC too ;)
You don't have a patch, so I think it might be harder to do. Everything is possible for that glitch.
The main idea is to destroy an entire stack of crate while beeing out of bounds. The game thinks then you still stand on a stack of crates even if it doesn't exist and tries to actually teleport you to another accessible stack of crates (by accessible, I mean : **approximately** in the field of view (it's a bit more complex than that actually)).
So, what you need to do to make this process easier :
If you see one of our runs on speedrun.com, you'll see the stack of crates we try to teleport from. So use this one, break the top crate only, jump on the ramp above and then try to traverse the floor and land on the lonely crate. Your character should appear a bit on the wall. If this is the case, you're ok so far. Then, while staying in this position (you can easily be pushed in bounds again so be careful) try to destroy the crate you're standing on. This can be done with the third hit of an Asterix combo. Then rotate your camera to the right side to teleport to the place we teleport in our runs.
Note that the camera movements are very important. The more you do inconsistent camera movements during the operation, the more you have chances of failing the trick. This is pretty much a hard trick, and I still don't know if it's possible on GC though.
The last "tip" for camera movement I could give you is to try one of the top players setup. If it is possible to achieve that on GC, at least one of them should work (we don't have all the same setup and you pretty much need to find your own with those basics... :/)
I hope it's possible to do it on GC since I don't want this novel to have been written for nothing ...

Wow, puh.... That sounds complicated. But I will try it later today! Thanks for the explanation!!!
