Anyways, I've always doubted that enemy would make its way into the final game. I mean, a very complex enemy that only appears in a single place... There aren't any other instances of that. And it would be a shame if everything rests unplayable just because of that.

You should probably look up AA online. Basically it smooths the edges in the image. As a side effect, the poorly UV mapped 2D text will show little white outlines.
