Would it be PAL or NTSC for the right stretching format?
At 640xXYZp, Gamecube version wins because PAL TV format ( 640x528 )
NTSC version crops the display for 640x480. Its interlacing PS2 makes it actually a 640x240 where each line has been separated by 240 other lines, and each frame actually refreshes half of the screen's surface, hence the tendancy to see pixelated horizontal lines, while vertical ones seem okay.
Now just the PAL PS2 and comparison is over.
So, unlike NTSC PS2 who CROPS the display to fit in 480p, the PC version COMPRESSES the PAL image in 480p
So, from the gamecube version (PAL), the image is cropped for PC to fit in NTSC resolutions. However, the US version not only cropped the display but ALSO vertically stretched it. Pretty wierd if you ask me.
Wanna chit chat guys? I'll be in vocal.
I've done more errors lol.
The NTSC KB version has a display of 640x448i
The PAL PS2 version hav a display of 640x512i
The PAL GCN version has a display of 640x528p
The NTSC PC version has a display of 640x480p
This what the NTSC KB version ACTUALLY looks like in a square pixel ratio
So, when all resolutions are fillany displayed faithfully on my monitor, I can finally say that no image stretching was involed and only the TV monitors would stretch the games to their manners.
And as a matter of fact, only the PC version would display on an NTSC monitor WITHOUT stretching.
PAL versions would look crushed, KB version a bit stretched.
