I'll be stuck in numerical algorithms until 17:35 and I don't think i'll be able to do anything else productive today. But I have more time tomorrow. Are the collision maps also stored as 3D models?
I'm currently in class too ^^. I have no idea if collision map are stored as 3D models, but since they are quite custom they should be.

I'm understanding how the 3D objects are stored in the KWN files. if I knew how to arrange them to my tastes we could finally start romhacking this game.

well you can do that and end up in some left collision map.
but loading STR06_00 would be tricky as there's no collision that links it with 01
I swear, once I'm done on making my Super Mario 64 custom map and characters, I'm jumping back here fulltime.
would be nice to have you back here fulltime. I hope I'll find the motivation to start speedrunning again, too :x Maybe if all of us do some runs together and start finding new glitches/skips again! I mean, there is probably not a lot obvious things left, but there is always a chance that we by accident somehow destroy a trigger and do something amazing (which is the reason why everyone should always be recording when looking for new things)
Would still be awesome if someday one of us just doesn't lose magic potion effect or something like that
