The emulator is still really heavy yes
I don't think I'm able to run it well either
I used to hack the Wii U ( I still can tho ) to fore it to play gamecube games via the vWii menu
But modern button mapping did not help at all.
The WiiU should have had a GC virtual console
Playing XXL on Wii U is literally one of the most stable ways of running the game ( no lags, HDMI support ) but needs a gamecube shaped controller to run well.
How about a actual GC controller :3c
The Wii U IS capable of running GC games flawlessly! There's a whole Wii inside!
Maybe GC controllers with smash adaptator can work with that.
I'm still mad it didn't work with MK8
I mean, nintendon't supports many controllers, just not the default Gamepad
