Have a look at Final Fantasy VI for example, or Kingdom Hearts II Data-Org
If you're allowed to setup and use a file before the run then you can literally beat the game the instant you can save
Because of this all, that sets up the run has to be done in the run
And every file you use has to be clean
of course the file has to be clean, but you just do a little rng manipulation inside the game's usual mechanics and then start from the very beginning. There is absolutely no need to time that
You mean like, start a file and die. Then quit out and now you will always have X enemy pattern?
I guess that would be fine
Because realistically you could wait on the main menu until the game hit X value to do the same thing
that's what you usually achieve by Pre-RNG-Manipulation, correct. That wouldn't be useful in our case, though, unless we could somehow mess up a lock or something. what I want to achieve is, if we could store a death somehow, to replicate the intro glitch I had :x
Well, storing a death though would be more then RNG manipulation and would require you to set it up on a fresh file in the run.
That is more like what they do in SS... Just not as extreme
it's still just one simple manipulation. Nothing that effects the whole game
how then? Just because we die and skip half of Gaul? Big deal :x
Because you're setting up a glitch / trick
yeah, but what? Everyone can use it
All of that would be inside the run
