So you'd still have to watch the intro to set it up to skip the intro
It's true that every speed game can set up their own rules and bioshock infinite actually allows a cheat that makes it so that an RNG pickup is guaranteed. This was required for the game as basically, no one wanted to run a game where if you didn't get the item which was like 1/70 to get meant a reset
I don't want to skip the intro. That would be awesome, too, of course if we could manipulate that
But allowing setting up tricks before starting the timer and doing things that are not possible inside the game like removing CD or going out of the game to control how things are loaded should never be allowed
I do remember that a Pacman game for GC allowed removing the CD so that they could walk through walls
I already told you I want to manipulate the game with inside mechanics
nothing like cheating or Disc Removing
But what you do will have to be timed as it is part of the run
Let's just vote if we ever come to this point
but we're more than 2 people here xD
And the options will then be: Time it, or not time it
Like, let's say there's a bug in the game where if you start a file, in rome and then open the settings menu, switch language and exist out. Then restart game and start new game BOOM, you're automatically at the start of Greece instead of Gaul.
Setting all that up would have to be in the run.
And you have to set it up with a fresh file
These is the general way most speedgames do it. And it really is the way that makes the most sense.
What you do to effect the run is part of the run.
With exception for setting up the RNG counter before the run...
