I don't like telling about franchises I like to my parents because I feel like they might judge me, I'm a grown up woman and such, but they know I like Minions from "Despicable Me" and "My Little Pony" (not as much as "Asterix" though)

From what I understand, your father suggested Asterix to you as something he thought you'd like through the XXL game. Over the years you actually started to love the franchise, something your father realised and as a result would always stick with you when you wanted to do something related to it even if he isn't a fan himself.
