Well I could search for their original names (according to the devs)
You just need to save at a place where they appeared and then open up the save file in a hex/text editor
it stores their positions on the current screen and shows their name
*cough* or use cheat engine :)

Nothing's encrypted on it, just like AoE III's save file
If you open it with a hex editor it "translates" the hex to strings so a basic text editor should be able to do that too
It's not in my ELB files sent to me by the devs two years ago... i wonder where it was...
