Specifically only the US first models had compatibility. Nothing released in Europe got that.

I'm really glad I can now play my PS1/2 library without risking scratching my disks, or fiddling with a dozen memory cards.

And, more importantly, I can record HDMI footage, as my Capture card doesn't support old video formats!
