I doubt it's possible, at least on PC. I mean, Marlon is right when it comes to the combat lock not being triggered when you follow his route, but the platform comes down so damn fast that, by the time you're on it, it's not high enough for you to be able to jump on the ledge above. This could be happening because of high FPS.

and even if it was possible you only had one single try for something that needs dozen of tries even when practiced immensly

The lock won't activate when you stay at the wall. I try to record it at the moment I will show you how I do it.

Okay I made a video and because it's to big to upload here I upload it on YT. But I will delete it later. There's a problem tho. You will need to die at some point to activate a blue light switch to get over the lava bridge where you can get the passive lock with the "3" Romans. So even if you can make that jump in the beggining it will only saves about 60-120 seconds.

Okay so I don't think that there will be anything else in egypt which could help in speedruns. Is there any place where I can look for more glitches to make your speedruns easier? Besides the beggining of Helvetia

So far the closest I got on GCN emulator slowed down to 30%

Important note: Between GCN (emulated ) and PC, despite the framerate, the platforms go down in the exact same speed.
