I believe it. It's pretty damn hard tho. I guess if timed right and by getting some time from the enemy (by hitting them or them hitting us) it's possible. I will try it out again tomorrow.

I tried it a couple of times but it seems impossible without finding a new glitch related to jumping.

making a water jump still makes you lose your torch, even when the torch doesn't reach the water

I let Obelix grab a Lion so I can beat him when he's in the air to get a little more time before I reach the stairs. And when I jumped onto the lion he gave me a little boost fowards. And I also could hit the Gladiator a few secs. before I fell back into the water. Im still convinced that It can work, but needs practice

How hard is it to do so?

It's not that hard actually. Just find a fast way with enough distance to reach the cogwheel. Go as much as possible to the wall. Hit it fast till the platform is out of the screen. Make a single jump onto the wheel (stay at the wall) and make a double jump onto the platform and then make another double jump onto the hill. Go for the torch and light the bulb.
