Dashing moves you forward in a straight path, while usually with the controller you automatically move a little left or right and have to correct your movement all the time. That's why dashing is faster, even though you gain the same distance in the same time theoretically
thanks ^^ Well, looking at the first ten seconds of Simaf's video in slow-mo, I doubt that. But you're probably right that a comparison done by keyboard would be more definitive.
if you phrase it like that maybe we should all start playing on keyboard to save seconds 🙂
cause well, that would be the same result then. Now we know how Baku is faster

What you DONT play xxl on keybaord?
no, my goal for now is just to know definitively that dashing is faster
I do in fact think playing with controller is faster x)
okay, can somebody tell me how I lose flybash in 90 % of the cases in the very beginning of Normandy even though I get my combo bar over 2/3 of the bar? -.-
It's pissing me off a lot
I only had that problem when my framerate was low, but that obviously doesn't seem to be the case
Okay, seems like I missed a ton of messages. I'm gonna try to answer precisely to everything.
and you're sure you're not missing any inputs, right?
I strongly believe that dashing on descending slopes is a little faster than just walking.
Dashing on ascending slope is slower than jumping for sure, and probably slower than walking.
Saving a minute is an overestimation imo.
You only save a few on tunnels, that's completely right, but you also have to deal with the camera. If you fail a dash, you'll potentially lose the time you saved from the two or three previous ones...
Also. I didn't show that because I didn't think it was necessary on that video, but dashing requires to NOT mash the button
If you do you'll lose your momentum at some point. You have to time it well. That's also why sometimes I do not dash even in a straight line.
Not all the tunnels are in favor of dashes then. In Normandy for instance, the ground is very irregular so it's easy to lose time by dashing there...
That's what I meant by "dashing" wisely... on the locations that are in favor of it.
