Hi everyone, I'm very new to speedrun and I decided giving a try to Asterix XXL as a first attempt, since it's a game I like a lot. Atm I'm using Noxus' runs and skip tutorials, I'm mainly trying to memorize the route for now. I had a question about the first sliding sequence in Normandy which gives me a very hard time. I struggle to correctly dose the jumps while trying to keep a good trajectoire, and getting as many helmets as possible. Do you have any advice for these sliding sequences? Thanks a lot! 🙂
If you don't feel comfortable jumping around the first slide @louistik then just do it while on a straight line, there's not much time saved here 🙂
Keep yourself on ground while you need to steer... it will come down with practice

On Nekin's BLR Run, he respawned after dying at 33:22.
The run actually resumes at 42:38
So instead of 1:32:42, an optimal run where Nekin would have used the old greece strat immediately after dying would have ended at 1:23:56 ( 30 second penalty for new levels raising animations missing in the backup save file )
@Martyste Tendertail Hi, sorry to bother but I had a question about the water skip in Normandy. The first time I tried it I got it without any problem, but since then, impossible to get it right again: once he has bounced on the platform, Asterix just won't hit fast enough to fly across the water. Do you have any idea why it may happen?
Building up the combo bar has the immediate effect of accelerating Asterix/Obelix's bash rate
if when you bash continuously and notice it's not fast enough, then you lost it.
Our current strat consists in not bashing any roman after the 40 Viks
So, through the slide, tunnels and after the catapult, we don't bash anyone and keep the flybash
