NoTeefy
It doesn‘t
ViGadeomes
and many other things more specific
ViGadeomes
it's the only way to come back on a previous state in the game
NoTeefy
Celeste TAS isn‘t done on a console. As I‘ve said you just need to reverse the game and write own tools for it that allow you to record the game tick by tick
ViGadeomes
but the end goal is to playback TASes on console
ViGadeomes
computer is a little bit different
NoTeefy
That‘s wrong too @ViGadeomes
AndreofHazel
Doesn't that require an immense amount of memory?
ViGadeomes
depends only of the emu
NoTeefy
TASes aren‘t console specific. You can make them for any architecture. It‘s just convenient doing it in an emulator since the emulator allows you to have full control over the emulation
ViGadeomes
computer is completely different Teefy
NoTeefy
@AndreofHazel you won‘t store it in RAM but on a harddrive if not needing it
MoistMan
Isn’t TAS literally a program pressing buttons on a timer?
NoTeefy
Nope
NoTeefy
That would be way too inconsistent
MoistMan
Why though?
NoTeefy
You would get problems with desync and stuff
MoistMan
Why?
MoistMan
I would assume the game would run the same every tome
NoTeefy
Because there‘s no console/pc that runs a game tick perfect
