If you want, we can work together on the same project. XD
I mean tbh
that unironically sounds epic
I'd just have to git gud at coding first
so if you can give me a couple months to acquire essential proficiency I wouldn't mind joining in at all
it's certainly not for now though, I still struggle with some basic katas on CodeWars lmao
No worries, there is so much domain in video games. My goal is to manage to control a little of each.
(thin the gif weighs too heavy)
anyway even though I imagine not too many people are hooked on this on yet I still feel like elaborating
the story would be based around Apophis (Apep), basically the the Egyptian Satan (a demonic snake god) who always tries to defeat Ra and fails
he'd be the game's main antagonist and try to cover the world in darkness, using dark mist that corrupts and sometimes mutates people and that empowers his demonic underlings
the playable characters would hail from several countries of the classical world, including but not limited to Rome, Greece, Gaul, Carthage and Egypt to name a few, and you'd have to travel all over the Mediterranean world (+ some other places like Britain and Mesopotamia) to kick ass and stop Apophis
it's an early and unpolished draft but I hope to build and improve upon this basic idea

And it would be in the XXL style?
that looks really impressive! awesome work!
yep, that's where I'd build upon
each character would have their own fighting style and also unique teamplay, so that each duo of characters has different banter, team attacks, chemistry etc
no combination of characters would play the same
another thing I'd love to experiment with in that game -- one of my new ideas -- is the implementation of both physics and destructable environments
think of picking up and throwing items as projectiles, and buildings that break and collapse in realistic ways if you smack them enough times and hard enough
I'm not sure how well this'd work but experimentation is always useful
so I'm absolutely going to mess with this and see what it gives
