It's a hassle. I never want to think about windows again...

its just shift+F10 in the windows-installer, write `start ms-cxh:localonly`, press Enter, type in a wishname, press next, wait, last privacy settings, DONE.

99% of people will just put in an account, and that is good enough for them.
schmeling65

pegperegogaucho
Maybe they upgraded from windows 10

Old people especially will update early. Since the Windows 11 upgrade notification is so incessant, they will just click okay and get it...

And when the notification "You won't get security updates anymore" pops up, that is also very scary for them

Ask my mother's boss. WIndows 7 - 10 PCs all over
schmeling65
back in the days I had to remove a virus manually without a tool because he "took some data from a friend and put it on (t)his computer"
I also don't get why he wants to have like 10+ Computers prepared for running with that ONE software he wants on EVERY computer, when his (not even a company anymore) company has only, well, 2 workers for the last... minimum 15 years.
He wanted me to take one of all of the computers, get the harddrives from his MF OLD SERVER IN THE BACKROOM and look and save what's on there.
LIKE ANYONE WOULD ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THAT OLD DATA THAT NOBODY USES.
What you describe is more the behavior on browsers with every ad and banner showing up to "click here and here and here".
