To be fair it is probably a leftover unintended thing
Eurypterids irl could go on land, its not impossible that the devs planned to make it dwell on beaches before they made it a deep sea thing
And just never bothered to remove a behavior it did not have animations for since it would be pointless to bring one all the way to the coast
