First step are texture replacements, if that's finished I'll try to enhance the surroundings with more objects like trees in the background and more grass

You could also take a look at the Xbox 360 version, which has some higher res textures (and updated Asterix/Obelix models), though the devs also used some upscaling algorithm and barely did any touch up.

Tried out some video upscaling. Original .VID: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBl8QTyCSJI 4K upscaled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uflgQ7iCdb8 Sadly, I'm unable to convert these files to .vid because theres no converters supporting this format as far as I know. VLC and my Upscaler can open it, but they can't save in that format.

You need to patch the GameModule to make the game run in windowed mode. Interestingly enough, I made a page on how to do that on the GitHub repo: https://github.com/AdrienTD/xxl-inspector/wiki

Otherwise you may want to check heso's cheat tools, as it can switch between window/fullscreen mode ingame.

It is possible to run the game in window mode by modifying the game executable (GameModule) with a hex editor. Open the GameModule.elb file in the hex editor (such as HxD), then depending on the game: Asterix at the Olympic Games At address 000E0F11, change the byte 01 to 00. What if the specified address was not found?
